Why Choose
Travel Healthcare?
Put your career back in your own hands.
You deserve the opportunity to take control of your career. If you love being in healthcare but are craving more autonomy and flexibility—not to mention a sense of adventure and a heftier paycheck—travel healthcare is for you.
Choosing travel healthcare gives you the exciting opportunity to visit new places, work short-term stints at new facilities, meet new people, and offers a broader range of experience within your specialty.
How Can Lucid
Staffing Help?
We’ve been in your shoes.
As former traveling healthcare professionals, we experienced the shortcomings of agency life. Travel healthcare, though lucrative, has historically been a confusing and challenging field to navigate because of large, faceless agencies. We wanted something better—so we created it ourselves.
We are committed to delivering the smoothest experience for every traveler. Our goal is to clear up the misinformation, fix the strain, serve the clearest contracts, and pay the highest compensation. You are a healthcare hero, and we want to recognize and reward your hard work (it’s what we would have wanted too).
Got More Questions?
Taking the leap into travel nursing and allied healthcare can be intimidating. Our recruiters have extensive travel experience to help answer all your questions and share insider knowledge.
How much experience do I need to become a healthcare traveler?
Typically, at least one year of experience in your specialty is helpful. However, required experience levels differ by assignment.
Can I choose where I travel?
With Lucid Staffing, you have total control over your career. You can choose the state, and you can choose between city, suburb, or rural settings. You can choose between mountains or beaches or prairies. We’ll help you get there.
What kind of facilities would I be working in?
We work with a wide spectrum of facility types, including both large teaching hospitals and small community hospitals, surgery centers, outpatient clinics, and more.
Do I need to be licensed in the state I’m traveling to?
Yes. You need to have a license for the specific state you’ll be working in. Lucid can help answer any further licensing questions you have.
Where do I stay while on assignment?
Lucid Staffing provides you with a stipend for housing. This allows you complete flexibility to stay in the place of your choice, whether that’s a rental apartment, an Airbnb, or even with a local friend. Stipends are tax-free, and we’ll help make suggestions if you need them.
How much money can I make as a healthcare traveler?
Lucid Staffing is committed to providing the highest competitive rates in the industry. We know how critical your talent is and how demanding the job can be. You deserve to be highly compensated. Travel healthcare is generally more lucrative than permanent staff positions.
How do I get paid?
With Lucid Staffing, you’ll be a W-2 employee, which means we’ll take care of your taxes, providing you with the best benefits, and paying the highest competitive rates in the travel healthcare industry. You’ll see your paycheck direct-deposited into your bank account every week.
How long do travel assignments last?
Assignments are typically 13-weeks long, but can vary depending on the needs of the facility or the traveler. Extensions are also very common, and there is no limit on how many times you can extend! You will also have the freedom to choose an assignment with your preferred schedule, shifts, and hours, giving you full control over your career.
What happens after an assignment is finished?
Lucid Staffing will stay connected with you throughout your assignment, and there is a variety of scenarios that can happen. The client may wish to extend the assignment, and you’re welcome to stay or leave. Or, we can help you find a new facility and location to get you a change of scenery. You are also welcome to take time off in between assignments—that’s where you have total control over your career.
Can I travel with my partner (and/or pet)?
Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to travel with your significant other and/or your four-legged bestie.
